Registration guidelines

Registration for the following school year opens at the beginning of November each year.

Pre-K, KG1 and KG2

In early January children are invited to a group or individual meeting to check school readiness.

Grade 1

An interview checks early literacy in English and Arabic and basic numeracy.

Grades 2 – 5

Submit the ADEK Continuation of Study (Sequence) letter and last year’s final report. Grade 2 applicants are assessed in English reading and writing, mathematics and Arabic; Grades 3–5 complete MAP tests in reading, writing and numeracy, Arabic assessments, a questionnaire and an interview.

Grades 6 – 12

Submit previous school records (reports, transfer certificate, recommendation and behaviour letters) and the Sequence letter. Students complete MAP tests, Arabic assessments, a questionnaire and an interview. Grades 10–12 also need two years of internal and eSIS reports, an equivalency letter, ADEK approval and a parent undertaking.

Offers and acceptance

Offers depend on seat availability and are made within a week of assessment for complete applications; families are told by phone and email. Where a grade has more applicants than seats, admissions priorities apply. To secure a place, return the signed offer and documents within one week and pay the 5% registration fee (ADEK Policy 39).

Transfers

Students moving between Abu Dhabi schools must complete the process before ADEK closes school transfers (exceptions may apply for Al Ain, Al Dhafra and other emirates).

Withdrawal

To receive a refund of the 5% advance, submit the withdrawal form to the registrar before the academic year begins. Withdrawals after the start of the year are charged as follows:
